ABOUT

MANDHU COLLEGE

Mandhu College was established in 1998 by its founder, Ibrahim Ismail. As one of the most distinguished educators in the country, Ibrahim brought his knowledge and vast experience to the College. In his work in various capacities in the education system, he realized that there were a great number of students completing secondary school in the Maldives who could not access further education due to financial constraints, lack of available places in the government institutes or due to poor performance at secondary school exams.

He then set out to establish this institution, mainly to provide opportunities for those children who were missing out. In the past 20 years, his dream has been realized to a great extent. Thousands of children have pursued different courses at the College, and are now productive people in the community, and the College enjoys a reputation for producing quality graduates.

In its efforts to enhance access to higher education by students living in non-metropolitan areas of the country, the College embarked on an ambitious research programme to develop a Virtual learning platform. 9 years of research led to the launching of its Virtual Campus, and now, any student, anywhere in the country can study for their qualifications with free connectivity.

The College also has a number of collaboration programmes with foreign universities and colleges which enhances the learning experiences of students and opens further avenues for them to proceed with their learning.

The College now has a great team which is determined to continue the work the Founder started and take the College into the future, and remain at the vanguard of Maldivian Higher Education and Research.
