Bachelor of Public Administration

This course aims to prepare competent graduates that understand, at conceptual and practical level, the frameworks and dynamics of the public sector. The course is designed to enable students to fully understand processes and theories in management, political processes in decision making, sound financial management as well as the development of public policy. While understanding the knowledge of the course, the students will also develop an array of skills including communication skills, learning skills, technological skills, as well as personal qualities and attitudes, all which are required in furthering a career in the public sector. When designing this course, the tasks and obstacles that the graduate may face in their career were carefully considered. Therefore, this course looks to prepare graduates that can fit into a career in the public sector, with a solid foundation in the theory of public administration, as well as the skills required at a more practical level.

Entry Requirements

2 passes at GCE advanced level OR Completion of the Mandhu College Foundation for Degree Studies Programme OR Attainment of a level 4 qualification in a relevant field.

Alternative Criteria

Attainment of a diploma or other level 5 qualification may be granted entry into the second year OR Attainment of an Associate Degree or another level 6 qualification may be granted entry into the third and final year of the programme.
